In Race 1 of the Asia Dream Cup category, Hiroki Ono's winning streak was finally interrupted by a different challenger. Surprisingly, this was achieved by the youngest rider on the ADC grid, 15-year-old Khairul Idham Pawi served up a stunning surprise at the finish line when he broke out of the slipstream to win his maiden Asia Dream Cup race.

DOUBLE WIN FOR NORIZMAN IN SENTUL

AZLAN, ZAMRI: ONE EACH AT SENTUL

Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman and Mohd Zamri Baba were both winners at Round 2 of the 2013 PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship which took place at the Sentul International Circuit on May 19, 2013. Both Malaysian riders picked up a win a piece from Race 1 and Race 2 respectively.

ONO, FITRI NULLIFIES DWI'S EFFORTS

Indonesian rider Md Dwi Satria, disappointed with his first Asia Dream Cup outing in Sepang last month, went into Round 2 vowing to dominate at his home track. True to his word, Dwi was well on course to topping the first practice session of the Asia Dream Cup category. His best time of 1:53.221 placed him at the top of the list for almost the entire duration of the 40-minute practice.

INTRODUCING NED ERNEST DANIEL

 

2013 brings the entry of two new participating countries in the Asia Dream Cup rider development programme – Sri Langka and China. 24-year-old Ned Ernest Danial is the sole representative of the island nation of Sri Langka. Prior to making his way to the Asian stage, Ned’s career had been focused in his home country, also racing astride the CBR250.

NORIZMAN IN; INJURED AFFENDI PULLS OUT

 

Norizman Ismail will be representing team Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing in the Underbone 115cc class. Norizman will act as mentor for the team’s two newbie riders Kazuki Masaki and FakhrusySyakirin.

NO SURPRISES AS ONO TAKES THE DOUBLE

After being the dominating force in the Asia Dream Cup all weekend, it would come as no surprise that both Race 1 and Race 2 were easy wins for Hiroki Ono.

In the Underbone 115cc class, Ahmad Afif Amran with factory team PETRONAS Hong Leong Yamaha ended the day as overall winner, but it was team SCK's 13-year-old Kazuki Masaki who became the talk of the paddock with an unbelievable performance in Race 1.
