The 2010 Underbone 115cc champion posted a time of 2:11.142s on his third lap out on the track but was soon caught up in a three-bike pile-up in the opening quarter of the qualifying practice session. The damaged bike could go no further, but luckily for Hadi, that fast time on the third lap was good enough to earn him pole position.
Hadi was not the only rider to crash in a qualifying practice that was highly eventful. Other riders who crashed out of the qualifying practice included Affendi Rosli, Amirul Ariff Musa, Kaito Toba and Yudhistira.
"I am satisfied with my starting position, but dissatisfied with my qualifying laptime. If not for the crash, I believe that I could have broken the lap record," Hadi stated emphatically.
Malaysian rider Amirul Ariff Musa is slated to start the race from second on the grid with 2:12.131s followed by Ahmad Afif Amran who will start from third with a time of 2:12.136s.
Second row starters would comprise of Norizman Ismail (fourth with 2:12.293s), Prawat Yannawut (fifth with 2:12.389s) and Gupita Kresna (sixth with 2:12.507s)
