The Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing rider posted a time of 2:12.111s, but is still three seconds short of the lap record held by Ahmad Afif Amran which was 2:09.723s. Also qualifying within the top five group were Hadi Wijaya (2:12.966s), Rey Ratukore (2:13.038s), Gupita Kresna (2:13.335s), and Prawat Yannawut (2:13.341s).
A quick but heavy thunderstorm prior to the start of practice resulted in an hour-long delay for the Underbone 115cc riders. Amirul Ariff Musa clocked in the fastest lap of the second practice with 2:18.338. Hadi Wijaya was again second with 2:19.643 and Norizman Ismail third with 2:20.748. With none able to better their times from the first practice, Affendi's personal best of the day, 2:12.111, became the fastest time of the Underbone 115cc in Day 1.
