Racing deep within a group of a 9-bike pack alternatively led by Apiwat Wongthananon, Kanantat Jaiman and Hiroki Ono, Denny emerged unscathed after avoiding a crash between the three leaders to win the 10-lap race with a time of 14:58.858s. Second across the finish line was Hikari Okubo with 14:58.948s followed by Malaysian rider Sasitharen Sukumaran who also notched up his first Asia Dream Cup podium by finishing third with a time of 14:58.948s.
However, this has not changed the pecking order in the standings. Okubo remains in charge after picking up 20 points from Race 1, bumping his total points haul to 124 points. Ono, who managed to limp back to the chequered flag in 11th place, added 5 points to his original 100 points and now stands second overall. Denny Triyugo leapfrogs up to third overall position with 97 points.
