Thai rider Apiwat Wongthananon managed to gain the early lead after a good start but was continually challenged by Hikari Okubo. Meanwhile, half a pace behind the leaders, Iswandi tried to fend off Malaysian rider Mohd Fitri Ashraf Razali and Australian rider Joshua Hooks. The scramble for position continued right up to the final lap now with Ono, Okubo, Iswandi and Denny in the lead. Sasitharen had crashed out at the second last corner. But something unexpected happen in the final dash to the finish line. Ono lost control of his bike as they began racing down the final few hundred metres to the finish line and spun out, collecting Apiwat along the way.
In the end, Okubo won Race 2 with a time of 19:01.267s followed by Denny Triyugo Laksono in second place with 19:01.480s and Joshua Hook in third place with 19:01.772s. It was Okubo's first win as well as first podium finishes for Denny Triyugo and Joshua Hook. Iswandi Muis finished fourth with 19:02.201s and Fitri Ashraf Razali fifth with 19:02.306s.
Meanwhile, Ono is reported to be in stable condition with some injuries to his left wrist and fingers.
With this win, Okubo takes the lead with 76 points followed by Ono in second place with 75 points and Apiwat Wongthananon in third overall position with 52 points.

Lap 9 - Each rider scrambled for position with Ono, Okubo, Iswandi and Denny in the lead. Sasitharen crashes out at the second last corner. Ono loses grip at the last corner and crashes spectacularly, taking out Apiwat as well.
Lap 10 - Race ends - Okubo, Denny, Joshua Hook
