Topan will be spending the two weeks leading up to the Valencia round trying to get up to speed with West's machine.
The 17-year-old Topan is no stranger to fans of Asian motorcycle racing. Beginning in 2007 and 2008 when he won two back-to-back Novice titles in the Indonesian national championship, followed by clinching the Expert title in 2009. In 2011, Topan effortlessly won the Underbone title of the PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship. 2012 marked his SuperSports 600cc debut where he is currently 16th overall.
Indonesian motorcycle racing fans no longer need to wait until 2013 before they too can cheer for their national hero in the World Motorcycle Grand Prix. Young Indonesian sensation Rafid Topan Sucipto will be making his Moto2 debut in the final leg of the MotoGP in Valencia this November 8 to 11. Topan will be racing for the QMMF Racing Team, taking the place of Anthony West.
